About the Waltham Forest Arts in Education Network
The Network is a registered charity based in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. Our mission is to foster and promote the maintenance, development, knowledge, understanding, practice and appreciation of the arts and to advance art education, primarily for local children and young people of Waltham Forest.
The Network aims to achieve this by:
·using the cultural diversity of the borough as an inspiration and a resource for arts work in schools and the community
·promoting arts projects and residences that will appeal to the range of primary, secondary and special schools in the borough
·encouraging collaboration between schools including cross-phase activities
·enabling schools to realise the role that arts can play in the school:
· to celebrate cultural diversity and challenge racism
· as a way of raising confidence, self esteem and levels of pupil attainment
· for enjoyment and recreation
