Urban Poetry Study Support Project

38 boys took part in our Urban Poetry Project in spring term 2009.  The project aimed to raise the literacy and oral communications skills of the participants as well as their confidence and self-esteem.

Sessions were led by local urban poets Tuggstar (Tuggstarthepoetman.com) and Nick Makoha (Nickmakoha.com) with performance coaching from Bismark Anobah at Rush Croft, Norlington Boys', Lammas and Holy Family College.

The boys created and performed some outstanding work which has been published in a book and on DVD.
