Waltham Forest Arts in Education Network

Jack Petchey Award

The Network has been approved to join the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme at Bronze level. Achievement Awards are designed to recognise, reward and celebrate the achievements of young people. The range of achievements is wide - it is not just about being clever, or gifted, but about putting the effort in and doing your best. Jack Petchey wants young people to raise their aspirations, believe in themselves and make a contribution to their society.

Children and young people participating in our projects will select a young person to receive the award every term and the winner receives:

- A framed certificate
- A Jack Petchey Young Achiever badge
- £200 to be spent on additional activities or new equipment of the recipient's choice

Our first award for September to November goes to Shianne Francis of George Mitchell Secondary Phase School. Shianne has been a member of the Network's drama and dance groups since April and was nominated for her commitment to the Creating A Buzz project activities. Watch this space to find out how Shianne will spend her £200 award.
