FBe Creative Be Well

The Network has secured funding from Arts Council England as part of Well London's Be Creative Be Well initiative in the Hoe Street SOA (Super Output Area) in Walthamstow.

The project will consist of multicultural dance activities with schools, community groups and Forest YMCA in the summer and autumn terms 2009.

The aim of the project is to increase the physical and mental well being of children and young people who are resident in the area.

Activities organised with Forest YMCA were launched at an Open Day at the YMCA on Forest Road in Walthamstow on Saturday 13 June which included performances by local street dance champions Unity.

A series of street dance workshops for 11-16 year olds took place at Red Onion Studios during June 2009 culminating in a performance of the group at Spirit of the Dance Festival at Ridgeway Park in Chingford on 5 July 2009.
